Terms of service

Welcome to The Pop Shop. These Terms of Service outline the terms under which we provide our balloon and decoration services to you. By making a booking or purchase with us, you agree to these terms.


1. Ownership of Balloons and Decorations

Once your balloons and decorations have been delivered and handed over, they become your responsibility. We are not liable for any damage, deflation, or deterioration that occurs after delivery, with the exception of hire items. Hire items must be returned in perfect condition.


2. Handling and Care

Balloons are delicate items and can be affected by environmental factors including but not limited to:

  • Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure can cause balloons to oxidise, burst or deflate.
  • Heat and Humidity: High temperatures and moisture may impact the integrity of the balloons.
  • Wind: Outdoor setups are not recommended for helium balloons as they can tangle, blow away, or burst.
  • Sharp Objects or Rough Surfaces: Balloons may pop when in contact with such surfaces.

We advise storing balloons in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or sharp objects to maximise their longevity. Once delivered, proper care is the client’s responsibility.


3. Helium Balloon Disclaimer

Helium balloons are highly sensitive to environmental conditions. While we ensure their quality upon delivery, float times may vary depending on handling and storage. We offer a gel upgrade for helium balloons to extend float time, but results may still vary. We cannot guarantee float times beyond what is typical under ideal conditions and are not responsible for premature deflation caused by improper care.

The float time of helium balloons depends on several factors, including the type of balloon and how they are cared for after delivery. On average:

  • Standard 12" latex balloons can float for 8-12 hours.
  • Standard 18" latex balloons can float for 2-days or more.
  • Foil balloons can float for 3-5 days or longer, depending on their size and shape.

For 12" latex balloons, we highly recommend upgrading to our helium gel treatment, which helps balloons float for up to 2-3 days. This treatment significantly extends float time and is perfect for events lasting more than a day.


4. Hire Items

Hire items, including but not limited to props, stands, and lighting, remain the property of The Pop Shop. These items must be returned in the condition they were provided. Any damage or loss will incur repair or replacement costs. We will collect hire items at the agreed-upon time and location.


5. Cancellations and Refunds

Booking Confirmation
All bookings require a 50% deposit to secure the event date. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received. By proceeding with payment, the client agrees to the terms outlined below.

Non-Refundable Deposit
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. This deposit secures exclusive allocation of our event date, design team, creative planning, administrative processing, staffing coordination, supplier scheduling, and payment processing fees. Once a booking is confirmed, these resources are allocated immediately and the event date is removed from availability.

Balance Payment
The remaining balance is on the event date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Failure to settle the balance by the time the setup is complete may result in cancellation of services and removal of decor without refund of the deposit.

Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date: the deposit remains non-refundable. Any additional payments made beyond the deposit may be refunded, subject to deductions for custom or special orders already placed.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the event date: the full event amount is non-refundable due to committed staffing, materials, logistics, and supplier obligations.

Postponements
One date change may be permitted if requested at least 3 days prior to the event and subject to availability. The new event date must fall within 12 months of the original booking date. Payments will be transferred to the new date. Additional charges may apply if event scope, pricing, or material costs change.

Custom & Special Orders
Any custom, personalised, or specially sourced items are non-refundable once ordered or produced.

Force Majeure
In the event of government restrictions, venue closures, or circumstances beyond reasonable control that make the event legally impossible to proceed, payments may be transferred to a new date within 12 months (subject to availability). Refunds beyond the non-refundable deposit will be assessed based on costs already incurred at the time of cancellation.

Refund Processing
Where applicable, approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.


6. Weather Conditions

While we strive to accommodate outdoor setups, we cannot guarantee the durability or longevity of balloons in outdoor environments. Rain, wind, and direct sunlight can damage or affect balloons, and we are not liable for any such occurrences.


7. Access

Some of our decorations, including large stands and structures, require careful planning for transportation to and from the venue. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the venue can accommodate these items. We highly recommend consulting with our team before booking to confirm suitability. We are not liable for refusal of deliveries by the event venue. 


8. Liability

The Pop Shop is not responsible for:

  • Any damages caused by balloons after delivery.
  • Allergic reactions to latex or other materials used in our products.
  • Injuries caused by improper handling of balloons or props.
  • Refused deliveries.

9. Custom Designs and Approvals

For custom designs, we will provide an initial design consultation and visual preview when applicable. Once the design is approved by the client, it is deemed final. Changes after approval may incur additional charges.


10. Event Setup and Collection

Our team will fully set up your balloon decoration to ensure it is perfect for your event. Once you have approved the setup, it becomes your responsibility. We do not return to pop balloons or clean up after the event. However, we will return to collect hire items as scheduled.


11. Minimum Order: 

For Dubai deliveries, a minimum order of AED 500 applies (plus delivery). For other Emirates, the minimum is AED 1,500 (plus delivery). Orders below these amounts cannot be processed, ensuring we can deliver the premium experience you expect.
